Locally Haiti has been partnering with community leaders in Petit Trou since 1989. This relationship is deeply rooted in shared history and the conviction that when Haitian leaders have access to resources, they will achieve progress in their communities. We believe that a prosperous future for Haiti lies in the great possibility and potential of these rural regions — fertile lands with talented and creative leaders that are in desperate need of resources. We do this through four core programs, all locally led and community driven: Education, Agriculture and Conservation, Girls’ Empowerment, and Community Health.
